Award Books
Mark Twain (4th/5th)
Students in 4th and 5th Grade have the opportunity to read books from a list of nominated Mark Twain titles. When finished with a book, they can take online quizzes to earn rewards. Missouri students can then vote for their favorite titles. The Mark Twain Award is given to the winning book/author by the Missouri Association of School Librarians. These titles can be checked out in our library, at the Mid-Continent Public Libraries or on Sora, the Student Reading App.

Denny O'Neil (3rd-5th)
Students in 3rd thru 5th Grade have the opportunity to read books from the Denny O'Neil Graphic Novel List. This list is named in honor of legendary comic book writer, Denny O'Neil. In 1939, Mr. O'Neil was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and went on to work for the biggest names in comics, developing iconic storylines that carry on today. When finished with a book, students can take online quizzes to earn rewards. These titles can be checked out in our library, at the Mid-Continent Public Libraries or on Sora, the Student Reading App.

Show Me (1st/2nd)
Building Block (K)

Throughout the school year, the Library Media Specialists at will read all the Building Block nominees to their Kindergarten classes, and students will then vote for their favorites. The Missouri Building Block Picture Book Award is given to the winning book/author by the Children's Services Round Table of the Missouri Library Association.
