Principal Christy Boman
Christy Boman received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education at Pittsburg State University, a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership through Baker University, and her Educational Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction through William Woods University.
Mrs. Boman began her career in third and fourth grade classrooms. After six years, she became an Instructional Coach. After a year as an Instructional Coach, Mrs. Boman took the Assistant Principal job at Shoal Creek Elementary, and five years later took the lead job. Mrs. Boman has spent 21 of her 23 years in education at Shoal Creek Elementary. Mrs. Boman is honored to be the Principal at Shoal Creek and believes in the importance of a collaborative relationship with the families and the Liberty community.
Outside of school, Christy enjoys spending time with her husband, Joe, and their three children, Katlyn, Peyton, and Elizabeth. She also enjoys reading, spending time with friends, and traveling.
Assistant Principal Danielle Compton
Danielle Compton received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education at Missouri Western State University and her Master’s Degree in Administrative Leadership through Northwest Missouri State University.
Mrs. Compton began her career at Shoal Creek as a paraprofessional. She then taught first grade at EPiC for six years before returning to Shoal Creek as a Kindergarten teacher for three years. Danielle has a passion for working with students, teachers, and families to create an environment where all students reach their fullest potential. She believes that relationships are at the heart of what we do, and that all students can be successful when the adults in their lives work together as a team.
Outside of school, Mrs. Compton enjoys spending time with her husband, Derek, and their two children, Jace and Maddox. She also enjoys reading, spending time at the lake, baking and shopping.
Assistant Principal Ashley Assman
Ashley Assman received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership through Northwest Missouri State University. Go Bearcats!
Her journey began at Shoal Creek, where she started her career after completing student teaching. She has taught multiple grade levels including third, first, and kindergarten. Miss Assman is dedicated to cultivating a school environment that is welcoming to all. She believes that education should provide engaging learning experiences catered to each student’s needs. She is intentional about creating partnerships with families to find a path to success for each child.
Outside of school, Miss Assman enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys pilates, yoga, reading, traveling, and being by the pool in the summer.
